Training at Bhubaneshwar

OWSA is partnering with Plan International for preparing communities for establishment of knowledge centres in the respective communities where they are working. Training for the community communicators from the Bhubaneshwar and Mayurbhanj districts of Orissa was organised in partnership with CYSD-Plan on Aug 31 – Sep 6, 2005. Seven day residential workshop at Bhunabeshwar was attended by thirty two boys and girls. Various communication media were introduced to the enthusiastic budding knowledge workers. After getting orientation to the social issues, they received extensive training on writing, photography, comics, radio and internet usage and applications. Participants also ventured out in the fishermen community in Puri to capture their voices on various issues impeding their development. Subsequently they wrote stories based on these issues and uploaded the typed stories on eNRICH community portal in Oriya.
